Today November 11th – BrownSuga

Wow! It has been awhile since I posted.  Alot has been happening, so much really. 

I have just visited a “sister-friend’s” blog.  I visit quite frequently and with each visit I get to know her better.  You see I wasnt one of the people in her inner circle of this young woman’s life, althought I played a couple of very small scenes, our meeting was truly at random.  I met her online in a chat room sponsored by a local radio DJ in the DC area.  YIKES! That was so many years ago (10, 11 yrs), and I am sure MANY of the people have long forgotten the chat room.  I like to think some people found true friendships there, but that lil ole chat room and with all of its (funny) commentaries, people chats, drama, Jasper’s meetings, truly saved my life.  Yeah, a crazy internet chat room, chatting with complete strangers….yup…life saving!  LOL  Anywho, I met this lady…(with Brickhouse theme song playing in the background and political scandal pictures of New Year’s nite (LOL),  in this chat room.  A merchant Marine, tough, sassy who had PLANS, checklists, was going places….with a helluva sense of humour!!!  Look at ya, I am PROUD to be able to have the privilege to get to know you better and enjoy your family. LADY, when u visit here again…Let me tell you, keep up the GREAT work on your blog.  Your are a true inspiration, dont ever doubt that.

Guess what….

EVERY WAKING MOMENT….I want to shout off the roof-tops, send cards, flyers, emails, BANNERS and FLAGS WAVING on my CAR, saying:

I am sooo EXCITED and sooo afraid at the same time.  I truly wish that this fear would leave me. The more people I tell the more EXCITED I get and then that fear comes crawling in steals some of my JOY.  sigh..

There comes a point in your LIFE when you realize who matters, who never did, who won’t anymore and who ALWAYS will.  So don’t worry about people from your past, there is a reason why they didn’t make it to your FUTURE.

We say the words ‘l LOVE YOU’, so it becomes routine. Tell me…how DO you SHOW that you LOVE someone? How do you know when you are showing someone you LOVE them, they are actually FEELING your LOVE? How do you know?  Now I am not talking about JUST sex or expensive gifts, I am talking about EVERYDAY interaction LOVE.

Tell me …what do you do EVERYDAY that someone looks forward to receiving your LOVE?

Is it a phone call out of the blue to someone you used to talk to everyday. Is it text msg saying “Just thinking of you, call me sometime?” Is it sitting in the emergency surgery waiting room with your parents, laughing with them to ease the tension; etc.

Sometimes people are so caught up with NEGATIVITY of the Past, that they can’t see POSITIVE things staring at them in their faces. Sometimes people are so DESPARATE for LOVE that they accept ANY form of EMOTIONAL acknowledgement so they can feel that they even exist; and completely forgetting that they DESERVE to feel LOVE. Sometimes people just can’t see past their OWN views and judgments to attempt to actively be OPEN to a LOVING relationship.

I LOVE YOU! I don’t know if I SHOW it so that you FEEL it, or if you just KNOW it …I LOVE YOU.
I think MOST of the time, people forget that we ALL are human and NO ONE has the right FORMULA to EXPRESS our LOVE for one another. Each one of us accepts LOVE in different ways.

So I challenge myself and to YOU: Starting today, tomorrow and everyday…in your own way….Step outside your box, go out of your way and show some LOVE.
